International Cafe "Intro and Ice Breaker

Fairly uneventful day. I stayed up incredibly late last night talking with Robert, Kay and my Mom. I believe it was around four in the morning when I went to sleep...oops. So I went to my one class today from 10-11 and then came back and slept again until around 3pm.

When I was sitting in class waiting for the professor to start there were two guys talking to each other behind me. I bring this up because it was funny to listen to them. They were speaking the same language as me and I could honestly not understand a single thing they said. Two of the strongest accents I've heard...and they talked soooo fast! It's fun to listen to all of the different accents and I've noticed one thing that is better about an American accent. You know how American's tend to have the problem of saying "um" a lot when they speak in front of people? So do the Irish but it's a lot harsher than the quiet um. It is a sound that almost sounds like when the doctor asks you to say ah when they are pushing down your tongue...that's about how I would explain it haha.

Ally and I were supposed to get together again today to book flights and hotels and once again it didn't happen. It will though! She's having troubles getting her debit card figured out and so we might have to wait a few more days. Instead we went to this thing called the International Cafe? Not sure why it's called that...it isn't at a cafe and yes there are international students...but there are also non-international students? Anyways...it is a group of students that get together on Wednesday nights and tonight was the first night so Ally and I went to check it out. Since it was the first one it was just the intro and ice breaker night where we played little get to know each other games and talked a bit. The games were kind of dumb and mostly people just didn't understand what we were supposed to be doing but we had some good laughs. :) Other Wednesday's there are different activities planned like a movie night and they are also doing parties for both Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Yesterday I had my first Political Science seminar and at the seminars we have to bring in a newspaper article that relates somehow to the previous class lecture. The article I brought in had to do with the new things from the Amanda Knox case and how she got to go back to Seattle and is now free of her 26 year sentence. Since I used that article I got kind of interested and just finished watching that Lifetime movie made about the whole thing and it creeped me out so now I have to find a cute movie to watch tee hee.
