Day Four: Cong and Connemara Tour

EARLY morning with a 6am wake up that didn't really give us enough time to get ready and down to our cab by 6:30am to be to the bus by 7am to head to Galway! I slept the entire 2 and a half hour drive from Dublin to Galway and then we started our tour for the day to Cong and Connemara. Our tour driver's name was Michael and he said "in and of itself" at least once in every sentence he said. He was a great driver and we're hoping he was right when he said that we most likely get him for tomorrow too because he was fun and he was also really easy to understand.

The first place we stopped off at was a Franciscan Monastery that mom once again thinks she could here ghosts. Then, we drove on and saw the town of Cong where mom and dad stood between the two counties like I had the last time I was in Cong. We also took some pictures in the park in Cong with some very cool trees!

After Cong Michael told us the sad news that the Castle, Kylemore Abbey was closed for this week so we didn't get to go in and see the castle. The good news about that was that we got to have lunch at a very cute little pub along our trip and the scenic route we took home since we had some time to kill we got to see some amazing things. First, we got to watch a dog herd some sheep down a hill, then we got to see some sheep in the road (not so amazing but funny Ireland) and then some gorgeous views of the sunset. All in all a brilliant tour for the day!

When we got back from the tour Michael dropped us off right in front of our hotel and told us that he would pick us up here in the morning for the tour tomorrow so that makes life really easy! After we checked into our hotel we went to the famous fish and chips restaurant here, McDonaugh's, and had a GREAT dinner and went to a fun little pub (that I can't pronounce the name of because it's in Irish) with live traditional Irish music.

Back in the hotel pub for a few more pints and then off to bed!
