This morning I woke up the earliest that I have all semester (6:30am) to practice my essays one more time and then leave my room the earliest I've left it all semester to head to campus (8:40am) to go and sit through my 3 hour final exam for sociology so that I can finally say that I am done with college! I won't be graduating until May because my transcripts from the classes I've taken over here won't get back in time to be graduated this winter (one reason you usually don't study abroad your final semester) but that's fine because that's when I can walk in graduation too! :)
It doesn't really feel any different yet to be finished because I'm still in a different country, still living in campus housing and not doing anything different but today my life changed. I'm usually not one for change but I am going to embrace this. All I have ever known is school and college, going to class, writing papers and taking exams. Now, when I go back home I get to become who I'm going to be. I get to start my real life. Yes, real life means having a job and paying bills but I'm excited and you can't tell me otherwise.
I've got 5 days to pack up my room before my parents get here, 10 days of traveling around Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and Great Britain with my parents and then 2 and a half weeks of much needed quality time and catch up with my boy who I miss like crazy. At this moment, I feel nothing but contentment and pure bliss.
